What causes the msi afterburner not working issue?

It works fine in other programs also. Afterburner only works when i'm running valley benchmark. Msi afterburner is probably one of the best known and most popular overclocking tools for windows.
So i'm thinking it comes from rtss but i can't find an option to disable it.
But just did a reformat over the weekend, and cant seem to get the osd to show up in games. After getting it all set up the first time and restarting the machine/app, i have a fifth line in the osd and i don't know where it is coming from. Msi afterburner on screen not working download! I'm not a fan of evga precision at all, msi afterburner is a much better program imo.
